World Lung Cancer Day

August 1st is World Lung Cancer Day and Navvisa would like to take this time to raise awareness about the disease.

According to the American Cancer Society, an estimated 226,650 new lung cancer cases will be diagnosed in 2025. Lung cancer is the cause of 1 in 5 of all cancer deaths, making it the leading cause of cancer death in the United States. However, there’s hope! As more people continue to quit smoking, the number of new lung cancer cases has continued to decrease, although non-smokers can also get lung cancer

As with all cancers, early detection and access to advancing treatment is crucial. Our certified oncology nurses help members receive appropriate cancer screenings based on lifestyle and other personal risk factors. From pre-diagnosis, to treatment and throughout survivorship, Navvisa provides wrap-around clinical care throughout the entire cancer journey. Our care model includes doctor appointment readiness, attendance, and after visit review. This enables a better understanding of patient treatment and real savings for employers through reduced time to treatment and ER visit reduction.
