Employee Benefit News Recognizes Navvisa

Navvisa has been featured in a recent article by Employee Benefit News (EBN) that showcases how the “[Navvisa] Platform Helps Cancer Patients Navigate Treatment with Personalized Support,” with our proactive approach to employee health and personalized care. The article highlights our CEO and co-founder, Vanessa Johnson, as well as our chief clinical officer, Joan Forté.

“Traditional [cancer] care is not structured in a way that allows oncologists and clinicians to address all of a person’s needs.”

For Vanessa Johnson, cancer care navigation is personal. She was inspired to create Navvisa after her mother received a cancer diagnosis that required Johnson to become a caretaker and advocate for her mother’s health. While juggling this new challenge along with a full-time job in the biotech industry, she realized that having access to a guide to help her navigate through the healthcare system is invaluable.

“Our care is relationship-based and very customized. We look at things like the location of employees as well as their age, language and culture, so I can hire nurses that match that profile.”

Navvisa’s CCO, Joan Forté, provides an experienced perspective on cancer care and how cancer navigation assists cancer patients before, during, and after treatment. In an excerpt from the article, Forté explains, “Traditional [cancer] care is not structured in a way that allows oncologists and clinicians to address all of a person’s needs. Our care is relationship-based and very customized. We look at things like the location of employees as well as their age, language and culture.”
